Manchester Utd have confirmed that chief executive Richard Arnold has let the club know that he going to step down as Patrick Stewart will then take over as the interim CEO, but until the end of the year Arnold will still give support. This departure is due to the deal that is coming closer and gaining more media attention with Sir Jim Ratcliffe, negotiating the sale of minority stakes.

Arnold is set to leave the job he has had for only two years after the Glazers come closer into finalising a deal of a minority stake to Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Arnold has currently been at the club since 2007 and of early last year he replaced Ed Woodward for the top executive role at the club.

Joel Glazer who is the executive co-chairman of Msn Utd commented on this by saying, "I would like to thank Richard for his outstanding service to Manchester United over the past 16 years, and iw ish him all the best for his future endeavours. We are fortunate to be able to call on the deep knowledge and experience of Patrick Stewart to provide interim stability and continuity as we embark on a search for our new permeant CEO"

The fans of the club do not seem to be happy in the way this is taken place, and the way Sir Jim Ratcliffe is set to come into the club. The fans have been calling out for new owners for many years now, and finally thought this was going to happen when the Qatari business man 'Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani submitted a bid for the club. Immediately after this though, the Glazers to the club off the market at the very start of the new season.

The club is currently valued at £10 billion by the Glazers but Ratcliffe is only planning on buying 25% of the club for this current moment and then over time is expected to takeover the rest of the club, this leaves the fans with concern, because why wouldn't he just by 100% of the club now?

Well this looks like its because of the fact that the Glazers can't make their mind up whether to actually sell the club or not and because of all this chaos it has not given much optimism to the Red Devils fans about the future of the club and its so called 'takeover'.
